Things to do in the area - There is an abundance of walks and cycle routes right on the doorstep and in the surrounding areas. Bike hire can be easily arranged with drop-off and pickup from the Lodge. We are also located between the popular ski resorts of Lecht and Glenshee. These both provide excellent outdoor activities in the Summer and the Winter. The towns of Ballater and Braemar are very close and boast some charming little shops and art galleries. The Lodge is also an excellent base for visiting local Historic and Heritage sites. Balmoral Castle is less than 10 minutes drive away and Scotland's only Castle trail is within easy reach. If you're more interested in "The Water of Life" then why not try the Malt Whisky Trail just north of us.
